What Are Ford Reacquired Vehicles?

Ford Reacquired Vehicles are vehicles that were previously sold new and later repurchased by Ford Motor Company. These vehicles are carefully inspected, thoroughly repaired as needed, and approved by the manufacturer before being offered for resale. Any vehicle that cannot be fully corrected to Ford’s standards is never released back into the marketplace.

Because these vehicles are reacquired by the manufacturer, they are offered at prices significantly below comparable retail vehicles, creating an exceptional value opportunity for customers.

Warranty Coverage You Can Trust

Every Ford Reacquired Vehicle comes with either the balance of the original Ford factory warranty or a 12-month or 12,000-mile limited warranty, whichever provides greater coverage. Warranty coverage begins at the time of purchase and may be eligible for extension, offering additional peace of mind.

These vehicles were returned to Ford due to concerns related to the original warranty experience, including situations where repairs took longer than expected or customer satisfaction concerns remained. Regardless of the reason, Ford ensures all issues are fully addressed before resale.

Common Myths About Reacquired Vehicles

MYTH: Reacquired vehicles are defective.

FACT:

While some vehicles may have required repairs, many are repurchased for reasons unrelated to major mechanical defects. In some cases, vehicles are reacquired as a goodwill gesture, due to delayed parts availability, or because a customer chose not to continue ownership. When an actual issue exists, Ford is legally required to correct it completely before the vehicle is approved for resale.

MYTH: What if the issue comes back?

FACT:

Ford takes the buyback process seriously and does not release a vehicle until the original concern has been resolved and the vehicle meets strict manufacturer standards. Combined with warranty protection and available extended coverage options, buyers can be confident that the vehicle meets or exceeds Ford requirements.

MYTH: Reacquired vehicles are difficult to resell or trade.
